Robert (Bob) J. Wassel, Sr

Mr. Robert (Bob) J. Wassel, Sr., age 87, of Sugar Hill passed away Friday, January 20, 2017, with his family.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with interment 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 at Georgia National Cemetery.  Father Eric Hill will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. 

Mr. Wassel was born August 10, 1929 to the late Pete & Marie Wassel in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.  He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and for over 60 years a member of Knights of Columbus, Forth Degree.  Mr. Wassel was an Air Force Veteran, serving in the Korean War and was retired from Mindis Recycling, where he was an Internal Auditor.

Mr. Wassel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dottie Wassel; sons& daughters-in-law, Robert J. & Roberta Wassel, Jr. of Loveland, Ohio, Edward J. & Donna Wassel of St. Petersburg, Florida, James P. & Shannan Wassel of Dunwoody, and Joseph M. & Lindsay Wassel of Ashburn, Virginia; and 14 grandchildren.
