Dock “Dockie” Crane

Dock “Dockie” Crane, 77, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday January 21, 2017 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born April 29, 1939 in Lumpkin County to the late Dock and Annie Crane, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.  Dockie was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by his sisters and brothers in law, Fanabell and Wilbert “Dude” Stephens, Mardell and Sumner Greenway, Marell Gaddis Bailey, Vera Mae Davis, Billy Gaddis, Sonny Anderson; brothers and sister in law, Billy and Mildred Crane, and Gene Crane.

Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Wagner, Dawsonville; grandson, Nicholas Wagner, Dawsonville; son in law, Guy Wagner, Dawsonville; brothers and sisters in law, Carl Dean “Peanut” and Marjorie Crane, Dawsonville, Loy “Sonny Man” and Linda Crane, Dawsonville, Ruby Crane, Duluth; sisters and brothers in law, Monnie Chester, Dawsonville, Annette Anderson, Jasper, Frances and Charles Baughcum, Lavonia, Marvin Davis, Gainesville, Lane Bailey, Gainesville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 24, 2017 at 2 o’clock at the Mill Creek Baptist Church.  Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 3 until 8 and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
