Larry Rufus Duckworth

Mr. Larry Rufus Duckworth, age 62, of Monroe, Georgia, formerly of Dahlonega, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 following a period of declining health. Larry was born in Towns County on January 25, 1954 to parents Rufus and Charlsea Mason Duckworth. After moving from Dahlonega, he had lived in Monroe for the past 28 years where he was in the logging business. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Nancy Maness and a brother; Ricky Duckworth. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sheila Savage Duckworth, children; Dale Duckworth, Carrolton, Timmy (Nickie) Duckworth, Blairsville, Ethan Duckworth, Billy Wilson, Cleveland, Tina (Josh) Anschutz, Monroe, brothers; Gary (Judy) Duckworth, Dahlonega, Terry (Carlene) Duckworth, Acworth, Connie (David) Samples, Dahlonega, grandchildren; Dylan Duckworth, Kylie Anschutz, Alexis Duckworth and Kimber Duckworth.

Pall bearers include Gary Duckworth, Terry Duckworth, Tommy Duckworth, Tristan Duckworth, Travis Moon, Rodney Gentry.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Anschutz officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday, January 19th and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
