Mary Justus Cross Franklin

Funeral services for Mary Justus Cross Franklin, age 95 of Clarkesville will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  Rev. Kenneth Franklin and Rev. Warren Adams will officiate with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM 

Mrs. Franklin passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017. 

Born on June 22, 1921 in the Batesville Community, Mrs. Franklin was the daughter of the late Harrison and Jennie Morrison Justus.  Mrs. Franklin was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.  She loved gardening, knitting, and crocheting, as well as reading and completing crossword puzzles.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands J. W. Cross, Jr. and W. P. Franklin., brother Willie J. Justus, and an infant son. 

Survivors include daughters Janie Loudermilk (Jimmy) of Lakemont, Vickie McConnell (Alton) of Cleveland, son John Cross, III (Joyce) of Clarkesville, step son Ray Franklin of Clarkesville, brother Roy Justus of Clarkesville, sister Rachael Craver of Port St. Joe, Florida, grandchildren Hope Adams, Amy Scroggs, Neil Loudermilk, Wes McConnell, Jennifer Taylor and Hamp Cross, 15 great grandchildren,  several nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren, as well as caregivers Corrine Wilkerson and Allene Mitchell. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 216 Turnerville Circle, Turnerville, GA 30580-0027, or to the charity of your choice.
