Katherine Coleman, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday January 17, 2017 at North Georgia Assisted Living following a period of declining health.
Born August 15, 1933 in Milton, Georgia to the late John Henry and Wessie Blake, she had lived in Dawson County for the past four months having moved from Alpharetta. A homemaker at her death, Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was a wonderful Christian woman. She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Johns Creek and was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Coleman; son, Marshall Coleman; sister, Mildred Jameson; and a brother, Forest Blake.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Darrell and Teresa Coleman, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Shannon and Ron Brown, Cumming, Ryan Coleman, Cumming; great granddaughters, Emily Brown, Catelyn Brown; sisters and brothers in law, Grace and Marvin Lord, Cumming, Betty and James Womack, Covington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 19, 2017 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. Mickey Wheeler and Rev. Sam Rickett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 8 at the funeral home.
