Mildred Hughes Henry

Mildred Hughes Henry, age 89 of Gainesville, passed away on January 15, 2017.

Mrs. Henry was born in Dawson County where she graduated from high school in 1945. Afterwards she was employed by the Southern Bell Telephone Company in Atlanta, Georgia. She also worked for the Bell System in Escondido, California and Gainesville, Georgia where she retired in 1982 with 26 years of service.  She and her husband also owned and operated C&M Pottery and Gifts and Chuck Henry Grading, Heating and Landscaping on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville. Mrs. Henry was a member of Mount Yonah Baptist Church in Cleveland, Georgia

Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. (Chuck) Henry; her parents Charles (Charlie) and Lula Boone Hughes; brother Robert Hughes; brothers and sister-in-laws Charles Albert and Betty Hughes, James Edward and Irene Hughes; sister and brother-in-law Allene and Loy Garmon; brother-in-law Ernest Ladd

Mrs. Henry is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws Richard and Ruth Henry of Cleveland, Ronald (Ron) and Deanne Henry of Young Harris; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Ragan Martin of Gainesville; sister Azalee Ladd of Gainesville; and sister-in-law Vernice Hughes of Dahlonega.

Mrs. Henry is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm at the Chapel of Memorial Park on Tuesday January 17, 2017. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the funeral homes prior to the service.  Reverend Doug Merck and Reverend Tommy Stowe will be officiating.
