Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Donald Eugene Henshall, age 90 of Cleveland. Mr. Henshall passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. “Don” was born in Miami, Florida on October 24, 1926 to the late Edgar Mitchell Henshall Sr. and Lillian Orr Henshall. He spent most of his adult life in the Atlanta area where he graduated from Tech High School, shortly after he entered the United States Army, serving with honor during WWII in the Panama Canal. After he was discharged from the Army, Don entered Georgia State University. Later, Don was employed with the International Paper Company as a Sales Representative from which he would later retire. In 2006, Don moved with White County where he was a member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church. Don will be remembered as a good and decent man who believed in God, loved his family and always enjoyed a good round of golf. He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Henshall and his brother, Edgar Henshall.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Donna and Rance Reese of Cleveland, brother, George Henshall of Marietta; sister, Lillian “Bitsy” Mathis of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Michael Joiner, Jeremy Joiner, Krstin Reese and Ansley Reese. IN addition, Don is survived by his great grandchildren, Megan, Cooper, Kayla and Alyssa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Monday, January 16.2017 in the funeral home chapel with interment following at Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00.
