Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Cicero Bennett, age 89 of Statesboro, Georgia, formerly of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Mr. Bennett was born in Norcross, Georgia a son of the late Cicero Bennett, Sr. and the late Emma Peck Bennett, and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Bennett retired from the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, and later retired from Reliance Electric Company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett is preceded by wife and mother of his children, Gail Manus Bennett and a daughter, Karen Adams.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Cannady Bennett of Statesboro, son Brian Bennett and his wife Lisa of Jefferson, son, Kevin Bennett of Nicholson. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 15, 2017 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Kesler officiating with burial to follow with full military honors at Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce, Georgia. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the funeral home.
