Ronald “Ron” Cole Lingerfelt, age 64, of Suches, GA passed away suddenly on Tuesday January 10, 2017.
“There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” Proverbs 18:24
Ron Lingerfelt went home to a great reward in heaven. If there was ever a man who was a friend of God and a friend like Jesus to people, Ron was that man. He was the greatest example of a man of courage and faith who will be remembered for all of time and eternity. Through the course of his life he was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father. Through his life he was a teacher, coach, businessman, and minister of the gospel. He will be remembered as a friend to everyone, he was known on many occasions to invite people in need into his home. Ron would truly help anyone in need. He was known for his passion and vision and his never quit personality. Ron was truly a servant of the Lord and his faith was absolutely unwavering all the way to the end, and he will be missed by all.
He was the son of the late Jesse Ronald and Opal Thornburg Lingerfelt.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maggie Lingerfelt, Suches, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt, Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Magdalene and Robert McDonald, Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Roger and Jill Lingerfelt, Loganville, GA, Randy Lingerfelt, Jasper, GA; grandchildren, Faith Lingerfelt, Destiny Lingerfelt, Charity Lingerfelt, Josiah McDonald, and Seth McDonald. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services for Ron are scheduled for 6 PM Friday January 13, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Pastor Jamie Lingerfelt and Pastor Joel Crotzer will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Friday January 13, 2017 from 5 PM to 6 PM and also immediately following the service.
