Doris M. Bryant, age 91, of Cumming, GA passed away on Jan. 9th, 2017 after a valiant battle with cancer. Doris was born December 16, 1925 to Ed and Alice Greiner of Fruitland, IA, who preceded her in death.
Doris married Don E. Carroll on August 22,1956. They had 2 children, and later divorced.
During her career as a secretary, Doris worked at The Muscatine Pearl works, Kent Feeds, and Stanley Consultants. She moved to Tallahassee in 1973, where she worked for the Department of General Services, retiring in 1988. In 1993 Doris moved to Suwannee, GA where she lived with her daughter, providing daily care for her grandson, Ryan - and whomever else might need it. Doris enjoyed traveling, attending Ryan’s school functions, visiting her friends and family, attending church, knitting, and doing volunteer work at In Touch Ministries. She lived for God, and her family. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking nearly every day. Her chocolate fudge is legendary…
Doris is survived by her daughter, Shawna Sarver and her husband Randy; son, Blaine Carroll and wife Sara of Muscatine, IA; grandchildren Desiree Carroll Fiallos and husband Luis; Ryan Sarver; Dan Travis and wife Andra; great-grandchildren Lily, Cole, and Cora Travis; and special lifelong friend Eileen Bennett of Muscatine, IA.
She was preceded in death by - Pepper, her Boston Terrier and constant companion.
Burial will be at the Island Cemetery, Fruitland, IA, in a private ceremony.
