Margaret Perry Tinsley

Mrs. Margaret Perry Tinsley 86, of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 following an extended illness.

A Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Wayne Hicks will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Tinsley was born on November 11, 1930 in Talmo, GA., the daughter of the late Eugene and Ina Ivey Perry. She was retired with 44 years of employment at Chicopee where she was the first female Supervisor and only one at Chicopee Mill.  She was a volunteer of Meals on Wheels and Mrs. Tinsley was a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church for many years and she loved her church. She was a faithful worker at New Haven Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tinsley is preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Tinsley; sisters, Mardelle Davis, Avis Coker, Linda Sexton and brother, Walter Perry.

Mrs. Tinsley is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ledford of Gainesville; daughter, Betty Pendergrass of Stow, OH; daughter and son in law, Sandy and Greg Claburn of Flowery Branch; son, Jimmy Tinsley of Gainesville; grandchildren and spouses, Derrick Talton, Chris and Shelley Talton, Traci and Andrew Oxley, Tina and Tim Dunn, Nathan and Lynn Sisk, Heather and David Martin, Tiffany and Charlie Gorrell; sisters, Jeanne Ward of Houston, Judy Perry of NC; brothers, Talmadge Perry, Ralph Perry, Kesler Perry, Tommy Perry all of Jefferson; 17 great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family wishes to give Gentiva Hospice and TLC Ministries a special Thanks for the tender loving care of our mother.
