Mr. James Claude “J.C.” Lawson, age 93 of 15 Fern Point Extension, Toccoa, GA, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Schaefer C. and Callie Walker Lawson, he was born June 3, 1923 in Stephens County where he lived his entire life. He was the owner and operator of Liquid Glaze Corporation. A member of the First United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Curtis Bible Class. He was a Shriner and a member of the Toccoa Masonic Lodge #309. He had a love for horses, and was preceded in death by a son Ronnie Lawson.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Martha Henderson Lawson of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Patti (Ronnie) Roberts, two grandchildren, Jamie( Ronda) Roberts and Chris (Quintina) Roberts and four great-grandchildren all of Toccoa, brother, Howell Lawson of Toccoa, sister, Murrell Elrod of Douglasville, GA, five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend John Brown and the Reverend Don Thrasher officiating.
The family is at the home of Fern Point Ext. and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 until 3 PM.
The family respectfully request flowers to be omitted and memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 333 E Tugalo Street, Toccoa, GA 30577
The following will serve as pallbearers, Ronnie Roberts, Jamie Roberts, Chris Roberts, R.J. Roberts, Billy Lawson and Stan Roberts.
Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. J.C. Lawson.
