Douglas “Johnny” Murray, Jr

Mr. John Douglas “Johnny” Murray, Jr., age 65 of 569 Watson Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at his residence.

A son of the late John D. “J.D.”  Murray, Sr. and Fay Howard Murray, he was born June 5, 1951 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  He was owner and operator of Johnny Murray & Associates, having 40 plus years in the heating and cooling business.  He attended Toccoa High School as a Purple Hurricane.  He was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cenie Howard and Clifford and Williard Murray.

Survivors include his wife, Revonda Douglas of the home and loving companion, Duddley; children, Jonda Fowler and husband Rodney of Eastanollee and Jenny King and husband, Michael of Lavonia, Josh Harris and wife Jennifer of Lavonia and Brian Harris and wife Melissa of Toccoa; grandchildren, Dalton Fowler, Jake Murray, Boone King, Alexis Lowder, Trey Harris, Emmaleigh Harris and Bruce Harris; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda Murray Allen, Sue and Mike Holcomb and Gail and Dennis Breedlove all of Toccoa; the mother of his children, Donna Dodd Brady; aunt and uncle, Nickie & J.R. Garrett of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Troy and Evelyn Douglas of Toccoa.

Memorial services will be Saturday, January 7, 2017, 4 O’clock PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with The Reverend Roger Whiten officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church from 1 PM until 4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Building Maintenance Fund, 2894 Liberty Hill Road, Eastanollee, Georgia 30538 in memory of Mr. John Douglas “Johnny” Murray, Jr.
