Franklin D. 'Red' Harwell, Jr.

Mr. Franklin D. “Red” Harwell, Jr. age 92, of Winder, Georgia passed away December 25, 2016.  A Native of Danielsville, Georgia he was a Son of the late Franklin D. Harwell, Sr. and the late Ola Moore Harwell.  Mr. “Red” married LaVerne Jones on December 13, 1944.  He was the operator Harwell Aero Service and the Winder Airport for twenty years.  Mr. “Red” had been a resident of Barrow County for the past fifty-one years and was a member of Union Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 P M. from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. David Cook officiating.  Interment will be in The Ila City Cemetery, in Ila, Georgia.  The Family will receive friends, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P. M. at the funeral home.

Surviving are Wife, LaVerne J. Harwell, Son and Daughter-in-law, Douglas F. and Janie Harwell, Daughter and Son-in-law, Alice and Kerry Lipscomb, all of Winder, Georgia, Son and Daughter-in-law, David and Diane Harwell of Williamson, Georgia, Five Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren, Two Sisters, Kathryn Henderson of Dalton, Georgia and Lillian Henderson of Cumming, Georgia.  Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to The Union Baptist Church Building Fund, 527 Union Church Road, Winder, Georgia  30680.
