Elder James “Bud” R. Bowers

Elder James “Bud” R. Bowers, 80, of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Memorial Park South. Interment will follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 6pm -8pm. Elder Cliff Tomkins and grandson Josh Roberts will be officiating the service.

He was the son on the late Paul Flake & Nettie Lou Stewart Bowers. Elder Bowers served his country for 13 years in the National Guard. He was an ordained Elder at Ivey Primitive Baptist Church, Lawrenceville GA. He was the Owner/Operator of Bud Bowers Grading for over 20 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Joe Bowers, Don Bowers, and John Bowers;

He is survived by his daughter and son in law Cheryl & Lee Roberts of Dacula, son& daughter in law Jay & Shawn Bowers of Flowery Branch, son & daughter in law Patrick & Lynne Bowers of Taylorsville GA, and son & daughter in law Todd & Laura Bowers of Gainesville; Grandchildren Meghan Magruder, Josh Roberts, Becca Roberts, Trey Bowers, Bailey Marissa Bowers, Joel Bowers, Jake Bowers, and Julia Bowers; Great Grandchildren Adalynn Magruder and Aubrey Roberts.
