Florence Alijean “Jean” Wood

Mrs. Florence Alijean “Jean” Wood, 75, of Flowery Branch, Georgia passed away on December 20, 2016 due to an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Scott Waters will officiate.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday December 22, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Gainesville, GA, on May 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John D and Estelle Peck Roberts. She was retired from Western Sizzlin. Mrs. Wood was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wood; son, Timothy Scott Wood, brother, John Roberts and sister, Lanette Moody.

Mrs. Wood is survived by daughter, Karen Parks of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Denise Wood (Michael) of Murrayville; daughter and son in law, Michelle Crose (Bruce) of Ark.; son and daughter in law, Dwight Wood (Karen) of Clermont; son, Mark Wood of Commerce; 8 grandchildren, Josh, Shawn, Thomas, Crystal, Alicia, Casey, Justin and Blake; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Bitler of FL., Delores Shuler of Clermont; brother, Wayne Roberts of Clermont.
