George Marshall Wells

Mr. George Marshall Wells, 88, of Gainesville, GA., passed away December 19, 2016 at New Horizons Limestone. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Danny Jones and Reverend Tony Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday December 22, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Memphis, TN., on July 10, 1928, he was the son of the late Herbert Marshall Wells and Irene Morris Wells.

Mr. Wells was a minister of Education. He was a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theology Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He served in churches in Texas, Illinois Mississippi and Georgia.  He was a member of Northlake Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wells is also preceded in death by his step-mother, Stella May Wells.

Mr. Wells is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Wells of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Marsha and Richard Rhodes of Quitman, TX; sons and daughters in law, Lee and Vicki Wells of Roswell, GA, Wayne and Cindy Wells of Melbourne, FL, David and Doreen Wells of Snellville, GA; daughter, Nancy Wells of Kennesaw, GA; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Herschel and Maryann Wells of Tuscaloosa, AL; and many other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Northlake Baptist Church Building Fund.
