James Richard Broner, age 58 of Cornelia, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on October 18, 1958, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Etta Scott Broner. He was a graduate of Central High School. He earned his associate degree from Truett McConnell College in May of 1986. He was employed with Fieldale Farms for 15 years as a utility worker. He was an awesome landscaper and craftsman. He enjoyed his fish aquarium and gardening as well as fishing. He loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Summerour.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 4 years, Guqinto Cobb Broner of Cornelia; two daughters Dominique Nicole (Nikki) Broner of Smyrna and Jasmine Lynette & Ray Magee of Marietta; children, Tia Cobb and Kenja & Jay Cobb all of Gainesville; brother, Michael Broner of Clayton; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny & Bonnie Broner of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda & Derrick Perry of Cornelia, Patricia Ann & Melvin Brown of Vernal UT, Dorothy & Paul Edmond of Gainesville, Frankie Mattox & Ronald Pierce of Gainesville, Teresa Brown & Carol Thomas of Gainesville; grandchildren, Marcus Robinson, Tiyonna Arthur, Mari Bush, Keziayah Cobb, Caden Cobb, Kassey Cobb, and Major Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mt. Airy with the Rev. Dr. Oliver Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
Mr. Broner will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the service on Thursday.
