Grace Rumsey Coffey

Mrs. Grace Rumsey Coffey, age 82 of 1799 W. Currahee Street, Toccoa passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late Ralph and Lela May Murray Rumsey, she was born August 9, 1934 in Fair Play, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Toccoa.  She was employed with Wright Manufacturing for a number of years and later retired as a Caregiver.  She was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Coffey.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Sandra Umbehant, Jimmy Coffey and Joe Coffey all of Toccoa and Michael and Lynn Umbehant of Athens; fourteen grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carlton Rumsey and Bobby Rumsey both of Toccoa; three sisters, Willie Jean Wilbanks, Ruth Gailey and Shirley Ridley all of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016, 2 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend John Umberhant and the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jacob Ferguson, Ethan Umbehant, Tim Richardson, Matthew Honeycutt, Dale Turpin and Anthony Roberts.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM until 8 PM. Online condolences can be made by visiting the website at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Lavonia, Georgia with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Grace Rumsey Coffey.
