Thelma M. Doss

Mrs. Thelma M. Doss, 94, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on December 16, 2016. A graveside burial service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 am for family only. Reverend Phil Carpenter will officiate.

Mrs. Doss was born in Madison, S.C., on July 12, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Will McAllister and Delsey Julian McAllister. She was employed at Chicopee Mills most of her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doss is preceded in death by her husband, S. Edward Doss. 

Mrs. Doss, also known to her family as “Monya”,  is survived by her, son, Larry Edward Doss of Jupiter, FL; son, Douglas Julian Doss of Jupiter, FL; son, Rives M. Doss of Gainesville, GA; son, D. Kirk Doss of Greer S.C.; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, attending Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and gardening.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the Willow Wood Nursing Center and Staff for taking excellent care of Thelma for many years.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A public memorial service will be planned for a later date.
