Ernest Willie Loggins, age 74, of Winterville, Georgia passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, December 17th 2016. Mr. Loggins was a retired painter with the University of Georgia and a life-long farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley (Woodall) Loggins, his three children – Keith Loggins of Winterville, Julie (Oscar) LaMadrid of Lawrenceville, and James (Jessica) Loggins of Winterville. His 11 grandchildren – Jennifer Loggins, Sharon Palmer, Heather (Nathan) Pillsbury, Gabriella LaMadrid, Antonio LaMadrid, Daniela LaMadrid, Alex & Cristian LaMadrid, James Michael Loggins, Justin Loggins and Jasmine Loggins; And his 4 great-grandchildren – Alexis, Allison, Aubree & Oliver. He is also survived by his four sisters Bernice Llewallyn, Bertie Holmes, Louise (Glenn) Seavers, Cathy (Danny) Wood and his three brothers Jimmy Loggins, Woodrow Loggins & Alvin Loggins, and his two sister-in-laws Joyce Woodall and Carol Willis, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford & Mary (Evans) Loggins, and his brothers Joe Loggins & Johnny Loggins.
Mr. Loggins served his country proudly during the Vietnam War aboard the Navy vessel USS Princeton and was a long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ila, Georgia.
Services will be held on Monday, December 19th at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Barnes officiating.. The visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.. The burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park with Antonio LaMadrid, James Michael Loggins, Nathan Pillsbury, Tom Aiken and Joey Harvey honored as pallbearers.
