Luther Helton

 Mr. Luther Helton, 92, of Maysville passed away on December 7, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

             Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Darryl Womack will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Members Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

            Mr. Helton was born in Cleveland, GA on June 2, 1924, the son of the late Riley Helton and Emma Winkler Helton. He was retired from D.O.T. as a machine operator. Mr. Helton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Lou Sisk Helton; sister, Pauline Fields, Estelle Shuler; brothers, Floyd, Andrew, Rosco and Vernon Helton and son in law, Gene Williamson.

            Mr. Helton is survived by his daughter, Margie Williamson of Banks County; daughter and son in law, Marie and Doug Palmer of Winder; son and daughter in law, Michael and Linda Helton of Cleveland; brother and sister in law, JR and Kay Helton of CA; sister in law, Clara Lee Helton of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
