Betty Nelson Minish

Betty Nelson Minish, age 94, of Commerce passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Joseph Albert Minish and identical twin, Nell Nelson Nipper, Greensboro, GA. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah Ellen Beauchamp and Roger Beauchamp of Commerce, Elizabeth Cunningham and Greg Cunningham of Crawford, GA and Lee Myers and Billy Myers of Good Hope, GA; grandson Joel Beauchamp, his wife Tara, and daughter Caroline Beauchamp; granddaughter Stacey Beauchamp; sister-in-law Hazel Benton of Commerce; one nephew, several nieces, cousins; and special friend Cynthia Sorrow of Gainesville, GA.

Born in Cartersville, GA, to Carl and Nellie Nelson on August 5, 1922, Mrs. Minish attended Cartersville High School and graduated in 1943 from Shorter College in Rome, GA. She was a Commerce Girl Scout Troop leader for over 15 years, active member of the Georgia Garden Club and a faithful servant at the Commerce First Methodist Church since 1946. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 9 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Little-Ward Funeral Home in Commerce, GA.
