Nancie Joan Ashworth Concato

Mrs. Nancie Joan Ashworth Concato passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Mrs. Concato was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Carlyle and Pauline Starr Hunter. Nancie lived in Hollywood, FL for many years. In addition to raising a family she hosted a daily afternoon newspaper drop for over 2-dozen paperboys. Nancie loved to cook and entertain, and began her catering career with Church lunches and dinners at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood with Judy Gensel. She also catered the weekly luncheon for the Rotary Club and the weekly dinner for the Lions Club. Nancie was active in Presbyterian Women Circles, Children’s Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Youth Group. She later moved to Blairsville, GA where she partnered with her husband Bruno and son Ken and his wife Denise to build and operate Six Oaks Restaurant which provided a fine dining experience in the mountains. Nancie was a member of First Methodist Church of Blairsville and served on the Mountain Top Walk to Emmaus Board and was in charge of the kitchen. Nancie loved to knit sweaters and scarves, many of her sweaters were sold thru the restaurant and later many were given away thru the local Nursing Home. Nancie was much loved by her extended family. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by: her first husband Kenneth S. Ashworth;  her second husband Bruno J. Concato; brother Carlyle E. Hunter Jr.; and sister Roberta Starr Gibbs. She is survived by her two sons, Ken and Sam Ashworth; daughter Kathy Ashworth; and grandson, Sean Ashworth. Private services were held for the family.
