Keith Lewellyn, age 89, of Flowery Branch, GA, formerly of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on November 28, 2016. He was born in Carbur (Taylor Co.) FL, on March 15, 1927, to Joseph and Audrey Savage Lewellyn. He married Billie Lou Martin on September 5, 1954.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home, to be followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service at the home of Denise and David Stout.
Keith joined the U.S. Army on November 1 1945, serving during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his military career, he and Billie were assigned to several stateside posts, Turkey and Germany. During the 1970s, Keith was deployed to Vietnam for a year. He was a dedicated soldier for more than 20 years and was awarded medals for his meritorious service.
Keith, an avid hunter and fisherman, had a special place in his heart for the Steinhatchee River, the Gulf Coast, and the woodlands of Dixie and Taylor Counties in Florida. In addition, he and Billie enjoyed the dance floor at weddings, parties, and VFW Posts and Moose Clubs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; two daughters, Denise Stout (David) and Pamela Strickland (Chris); four grandchildren, Bart and Taylor Stout and Abigail and Amelia Strickland; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kathleen Richards and Marie Stewart.
