Martin Lee Tittle

Obituary Date: Friday, November 25, 2016

Martin Lee Tittle of Cleveland, Georgia (formerly of Ocala, Florida) passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family and his beloved dogs on November 25, 2016.  Martin was born on February 20, 1950 in Micanopy, Florida.  He is preceded in death by his parents Gale and Bernice Tittle and his father-in-law Francis Gay.  Martin is survived by his wife, Susan, of 44 years; his daughter Lucy Haber, son-in-law Donald Haber, Jr. and grandson Benjamin;  his daughter Rebecca Palmer, son-in-law Stacy Palmer and grandchildren Barrett and Mya; his brothers Jack (Mei-Ling), Michael (JoAnn), David (Judy), Tom (Jeanne), along with many nieces and nephews who he loved as his own.
Martin enlisted to serve his country in the U.S. Army where he entered as a private and retired as a full bird colonel.  He was a jack of all trades and his interests included refereeing basketball, collecting old bottles, wheeling and dealing on Craig’s List, buying and selling cars and dirt bikes, frequenting yard sales, and planning and attending the annual Vegas trip.  Martin also had a great appreciation and love of the Ocklawaha and Silver Rivers.
Family and friends will remember Martin as being very generous, lighthearted, and humble.  He also had a quick wit, strong work ethic, and an overall genuine kindness he showed all he met.  He will be remembered well, but greatly missed, especially by his three grandchildren.
Martin’s celebration of life will be Thursday, December 1 from 2-5pm at Center Baptist Church in Robertstown, Georgia. Opening with a time of prayer and remembrance at 2pm and then followed by a time of fellowship until 5pm.  In lieu of flowers and for those wishing to make memorial gifts, the family requests gifts be given to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
