James William O’Connor, III, age 67, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016. James was born in Chicago, IL, in 1946, to the late James O’ Connor and Virginia Ogrentz. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. O’Connor will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Herman O’Connor; and step-father, Arthur Ogrentz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda O’Connor of Alpharetta, GA; children, Jackie (John) Whitley of Alpharetta, GA, and Marie O’Connor of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Alec, Sean, and Owen Whitley all of Alpharetta, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Connie (Jerry) Minor of Illinois; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie Ogrentz of Illinois, and Jerry (JoLynn) Ogrentz of Illinois; mother-in-law, Irene Gustafson; sister-in-law, Kathy Smith; his faithful four legged friend, Cooper O’Connor; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Funeral Services for Mr. O’Connor will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Lenahen officiating. Interment will be held Friday, December 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
