Helen Andrews, age 94, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away November 26, 2016 at Mountain View Nursing Home.
She was born the daughter of the late John Esco York and Martha Jane Trusty York. She was also preceded in death by her husband Cleo “Andy” Andrews Jr., one son Don Andrews, and two brothers Tom York, and Willie York, and six sisters Nellie Turpin, Hazel Farmer, Gladys Watts, Josephine Lemon, Mildred Hogsed, and Venus Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Trip Andrews (Linda) of Duluth, GA, and Curtis Beck (Renie) of Clayton, Ga; two sisters, Alma Jones and Edith Bray both of Clayton, GA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren ; four Great-great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Helen was a devoted member at Fletcher United Methodist Church. She had twelve years perfect attendance at Sunday School. She loved going fishing and enjoyed watching birds. She was a loving mother that enjoyed taking care of her family, and was a very good business woman. Helen also lived in Arden, NC for many years. Along with her husband they owned and operated Midway Self Service Grocery in Arden, NC.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 29, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve York officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunshine Methodist Cemetery in Toccoa, Georgia.
