Allen Sequoya Gowan

Mr Allen Sequoya Gowan, 63, of Cave Springs, passed away November 24, 2016 following injuries in an automobile accident.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Reverend Cotton Harris will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday November 28, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Gowan was born in Gainesville, GA on April 13, 1953 to the late Dustus William Gowan, Sr. and Hazel Ann Tench Gowan.  He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gowan is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Duck Gowan, Aloma O’Neil, Jimmy Gowan and Sue Roberts.

Mr. Gowan is survived by his wife, Sharon Bell Gowan of Cave Springs; daughters and sons in law, Trina and Lamar Ray of Gainesville; Sequita and James Richie of Gainesville; sons and daughters in law, Dustus  and Tracy Gowan of Winder, Joshua Gowan of Lawrenceville; daughter, Rachel Castleman, Becca Castleman; son, Luke Upchurch of Cave Springs; sons and daughter in law, Chris and Brianna Castleman, Tommy Castleman, Richie Castleman all of Cave Springs; 8 grandchildren, Amber Ray, Branson Ray, Ryan Anderson, Caleb Gowan, Travis Gowan, Jude Gowan, Elizabeth Padilla, Blake Gowan; 1 great grandchild, Gabriella “Gabby” Anderson; brothers and sisters, Lamar Gowan of Rome, Tina Bunch of Gainesville, as well as a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
