Robert Ellsworth Hedden, age 88, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016, in his home, surrounded by family. Mr. Hedden was born on October 24, 1928, to the late Arthur S. Hedden, Sr. and Olga Hansen Hedden in Morristown, NJ. He served his countryin the US Navy aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. After being honorably discharged, he spent many years traveling the country and worked as a maintenance supervisor, mechanic, landlord, and eventually retired as a luxury boat builder. His ultimate adventure came later in life, when he married
his wife, Virginia, and raised his three daughters.
Mr. Hedden is preceded in death by his parents as well as brother Arthur Hedden, Jr. and sisters Marjorie Johnson and Virginia Heath. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hedden; daughters and sons-in-law, Allison and Benjamin Read, and Ashley and Benjamin Stockton; daughter, Amanda Hedden; grandson, James Stockton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM. Memorial services will be at 4:30 PM on Sunday with the Rev. Jim Gant officiating.
