Dorothy Byree Martin Lovell

Mrs. Dorothy Byree Martin Lovell, age 97 of 1355 Big A Road, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late Emory Spear and Mae Vandiver Martin, she was born November 22, 1919 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Rhodes Sunday School Class.  She was a member of the DAR and the UDC.  She was preceded in death by her husband, D.L. Lovell in 2001 and by a daughter, Kay Turpin in 2007.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Elizabeth Frederick of Nicholson, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Brianna Frederick; son-in-law, Richard T. Turpin of Athens, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jeanette Martin of Seneca, South Carolina; sister, Christine Burgess of Longview, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2016, 2 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Don Thrasher and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Richard Turpin, Earnest Lovell, Bill James, Eddie Martin, Mike Davis, Phil Burgess and Ken Wilkinson.

Flowers are to be omitted.  Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 333 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mrs. Byree Lovell.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM until 8 PM.  Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Truitt Phillips officiating. Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Byree Martin Lovell.
