Elizabeth Lauren Beebe

Obituary Date: Monday, November 21, 2016

Elizabeth Lauren Beebe, age 30 of Gainesville, passed from the earthly world to the kingdom of Heaven on the morning of November 21, 2016.  Lauren was a beautiful daughter and loving sister.

She is survived by her parents, Dr. Ronald and Donna Beebe; sister and brother in-law Katherine Jordan (Beebe) Saunders and Jonathan Leigh Saunders.  While Lauren was not married and had no children of her own, she touched the lives of so many in her short life.

Lauren fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was an inspiration to thousands because of her Faith and Determination.  She never wavered, never complained, and never felt sorry for herself.  She lived each day with a purpose, and remained optimistic to the very end.  Lauren was a warrior. She had a faith in God and His plan for her that amazed us every day.  But to define Lauren’s short life as a cancer struggle would be a great injustice.

Lauren’s life was so much more. She attended Presbyterian College, where she graduated with honors with a degree in Biology.  She was an excellent student.  She chose to go into medicine like her father, and she received her Master’s Degree as a physician assistant.  She loved cardiology and worked treating heart patients until she became too ill to go on.

She loved her patients, and they loved her even more.  She was compassionate and kind.  She always saw the good in people, even when others did not.

So many things brought Lauren joy, even during the hard times.  Georgia football, walking on the beach, playing with her Jack Russells, going to New York to see Broadway plays, and helping her sister, the teacher, set up her classroom.  Lauren had a sharp-witted sense of humor, and loved to laugh.  Yet it was her friendly smile and tender heart that will be remembered most.

Lauren’s absence will be mourned, but her life will be celebrated.  She was an inspiration to her family and thousands of followers who fought with her every single day. She will be greatly missed!

In lieu of flowers, please remember Lauren with a donation to the Hall County Relay for Life. She worked tirelessly the last two years of her life for this wonderful organization. Contributions can also be made to Gainesville First United Methodist Church in honor of Lauren’s memory.

The family will receive friends on November 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Gainesville United Methodist Church, 2780 Thompson Bridge Road Gainesville, GA 30506.  Online condolences can be made at www.memorialparkfuneralhomes.com.
