Charles Edward Blanton

Charles Edward Blanton age 80 of Nicholson passed away Saturday at the Gentiva Hospice at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
 
Mr. Blanton was born February 12, 1936 in Atlanta to the late Noah Lee & Ila Mae Herron Blanton. He retired as a manager with Northside Tool Rental with 31 years of service. He served his Country in the United States Army National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his sons, Danny Blanton & William ‘Buck’ Shelton, daughters, Sandra Shelton & Twanna Shelton, brother, Kenneth Blanton & sister, Nancy Prater.
 
Survivors include, wife of 25 years, Loraine Blanton, Nicholson, son & daughter in law, Jeff & Julie Blanton of Commerce, son, Edward Blanton of Covington, daughter, Peggy Blanton of Nicholson, brothers, Thomas Herron of Douglasville, Terry Blanton of Carrollton, & Ernest Blanton of Austell, sisters, Linda King of Lithia Springs & Etta Forehand of Nicholson 7 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives survive.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday night at the funeral home.
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Wills & Mr. Jeff Blanton officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Forrest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park on Tuesday.
