James Ronald Byrd

Mr. James Ronald Byrd, age 69, of Atlanta passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Atlanta V.A. Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Minister Teffany Pierce will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Byrd was born January 8, 1947 in Hall County, Georgia to Winford Cobb and Agnes Byrd Banks. Mr. Byrd served in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam and was a member of First Baptist on MLK Blvd. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Byrd; his son James Byrd; and two brothers, Benjamin Byrd and Douglas Byrd.

Mr. Byrd is survived by mother, Agnes Byrd Banks; sister, Janice Teen of Atlanta; and brother, Douglas Cobb of Gainesville; his son, Michael Byrd of Gainesville; daughter, Tammy Hester of Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Teffany Pierce (Janice) of Braselton; daughter and partner, Nicole Hester (Harriett Slade) of Buford; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
