Ray Loggins

Obituary Date: Sunday, November 13, 2016

Ray Loggins, 74, of Gainesville, passed away November 13, 2016.

Ray was a lifetime resident of Hall County.  He was the son of the late Charlie Newman and Mary Lou Johnson Loggins.  He was the owner and operator of Ray Loggins Trucking and a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #2. 

Ray was the original driver of the #74 Termite Special at Lanier Raceway with many wins and championships.  He was an avid race fan and a loving family man.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Loggins; daughter, Beth Loggins Smith (David), Dahlonega; son, Jason Loggins, Jefferson; step-son,  Kevin “Ned” Hulsey (Rachel), Gainesville; grandchildren, Karli Loggins, Brantley Moore, India Hulsey, Ethan Hulsey, Barrett Smith; sister, Mary Nell White; sister and brother-in-law, Genie and Billy Whelchel; brother and sister-in-law, Howell and Sally Loggins; brother-in-law Arthur Grizzle.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charlene Loggins, Irene Gilstrap, Newman Loggins, Amanda Beck, Idell Fowler, and Betty Grizzle. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell and Rev. Allen Passmore will officiate.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
