Mr. Joseph Colonel Smith, age 85 of 23 Price Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2016 at his residence.
A son of the late Joseph C. and Emma Dickerson Smith, he was born August 16, 1931 in Rabun County, Georgia have lived most of his life in Toccoa. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, a retired Auto Mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Shirley Martin Smith; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and David Cannon and Edna and Marty Littleton both of Toccoa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Marilyn Smith and Eddie and Deborah Smith both of Toccoa; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12, 2016, 4 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Marty Joe Littleton, Barrett Smith, Joe W. Smith, Mikah Collins, Josh McCurry and Matt Bolmon.
The family will be at the home on Price Street and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:30 PM until the service time. Online condolences can be made by visiting the website at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Joseph Colonel Smith.
