Mrs. Jean Minish Hardman Harris, 74, of 945 Erastus Church Road, Commerce, died on Monday, November 7, at her residence.
Born in Madison County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Ferris Minish and Cecile Simmons Minish. Mrs. Harris was a member of Erastus Christian Church, and she attended until declining health prevented her from attending. Preceeding her in death was her first husband, Ronnie Hardman, her brothers Lammie Minish, Billy Minish, and her sister Mary Gillespie Chandler.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Harris, daughter, Sheila Hardman McElreath (Kevin) Knight of Athens, and her son, Ronald (Melanie) Hardman of Commerce. She is also survived by her brother Johnny (Brenda) Minish of Ila; sisters, Nelda Whitsel & Susan (Keith) Steed, both of Ila, Madge Stewart, of Commerce, Glenda (Dennis) Hogan of Hoschton, Nita (John) Bellamy of Athens; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Erastus Christian Church on Wednesday from 1 pm until 2:30pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Harris will be conducted on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Erastus Christian Church with Rev. Bill Hayes and Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Erastus Christian Church.
