Mrs. Ida Elaine Hodge, age 85, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Thursday November 3, 2016.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Auraria, Lumpkin County, GA October 11, 1931 and grew up in Delta, Alabama. She was a seamstress at Sweet-Orr and Company in Dawsonville, GA for a number of years. They made Boy Scout shirts. Ida was of the Baptist faith.
Ida was the daughter of the late Andrew Milford Jordan and Florence Carney Jordan and was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hodge; brothers, Thomas Jefferson Jordan and Arthur Milford Jordan; and grandson, Johnny Waylon Hodge.
Ida is survived by sons, Caffey Gene Hodge, Cumming, GA, Clayton "Butch" Ray Hodge and wife Diane Hodge, Dahlonega, GA; daughters, Shirley Louise Harkins, Dawsonville, GA, Mary Eulene Massey and husband Larry David Massey, Woodstock, GA; granddaughters, Lisa Elaine Hodge Johnson and husband Jeffrey Lyle Johnson, Dawsonvillle, GA, Gina Lynn Hodge Baker and husband William Lester Baker, Cleveland, GA, Jennifer Lynn Stephens Voyles and husband Kenny Voyles, Teresa Elaine Massey Norton and husband Ralph Murray Norton Jr., Ball Ground, GA; grandsons, Tommy James Hodge and wife Sherry Lynn Hodge, Lake Haven, FL, Jared Daniel Hodge and wife Leighann Hodge, Larry David Massey Jr. and wife Tammy, Jasper, GA, Richard Lee Palmer Jr., Dawsonville, GA; great-granddaughters, Annie Marie Baker, Megan Nicole Baker, Chloe Lynn Baker, Sutton Elizabeth Hodge, Barbara Elaine (Laney) Norton, Emily Nicole Norton, Elish Michele Norton; great-grandsons, Zachariah Lyle Johnson and wife Whitney, Joshua Levi Johnson, Kyle Hodge, Brian T. Hodge, Jacob Massey, Cameron Stephens, Justen Voyles and Jacob Voyles Numerous other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA from 10 AM until 11 AM on Saturday November 12, 2016.
The memorial service for Ida will start at 11 AM Saturday, November 12, 2016.
Rev. Tommy Ross will officiate.
Immediately following the memorial service Mrs. Hodge's ashes will be interred next to her husband at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens..
