Mrs. Katherine Williams Canady, age 98, of Mize Road, Toccoa, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at The Stephens County Hospital.
The daughter of the late Benjamin Hill and Dora Neal Minyard Williams, she was born February 8, 1918 in Franklin County, Georgia where she lived for most of her life. Mrs. Canady moved to Toccoa in 1998. She was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church, and she loved gardening and cooking for her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Canady was preceded in death by her husband, George Canady, Jr. and by a granddaughter, Deborah Elaine.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and George Goolsby of Gray Court, South Carolina, a son, Marshall Canady of Toccoa, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and thirty great –great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 3:00 P.M., at Carnes Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Jay Mosser and The Reverend Joey Whitlock officiating.
The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers and will please assemble at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Kyle Canady, Joe Schreiber, Tony Fulbright, Marvin Owen, Mike McKinney, and Jeffrey Goolsby.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. on Friday.
