Odis D. Chapman

  Mr. Odis D. Chapman, age 78, of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Reverend Grady Saxon and Mr. Shane Turner will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Chapman was born February 10, 1938 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Earl Chapman and Gussie Lomax Chapman.  He was retired from Mar-Jac Poultry as a truck driver and was a member of Lula Worship Center.  Odis was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Dianne Chapman, brother, Perry Chapman and two sisters, Vernell Ward and Louise Bryan.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife, Ellen Harris Chapman of Lula, his daughter & son-in-law, Cathy & James Brown of Lula, his son & daughter-in-law, David & Christine Chapman of Carnesville, his son, Darryl Chapman of Lula, his step-daughter & husband, Wendy & Gary Dunn of Lula, step-son & wife, James & Janel Brooks of Flowery Branch, sisters, Mildred Anglin of Alto, Ruth Ward of Lula, Joyce Garner of Gainesville and Juanita Chapman of Gainesville, 9 grandchildren, Scott Chapman, Josh Bellotte, Heather Bellotte, Blake Chapman, Sharon Chapman, Billy Dunn, Jarad Dunn, Bailey Dunn and Jemma Brooks, and 3 great-grandchildren, Kelsie Chapman, Parker Bellotte and Braiden Dunn.
