Mrs. Eve Wilson Black, 88 of Gainesville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday October 27, 2016.
Born in Manchester, Georgia, Mrs. Black was the daughter of the late B.W. and Lavana Mulkey Wilson. She was a resident of Hall County for over 46 years. Daughter of a Baptist Minister and wife, she was a Professional for years that became a homemaker. As a very active full-time volunteer for 40 years, she worked with confidential organizations in Hall County and counseled those contemplating suicide and victims of domestic violence. She volunteered in both non-partisan and Republican politics. She was a firm believer in James 2:17 by doing works as evidence of her faith. She created a food and clothing pantry at her church and worked with other county food banks.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Black; daughters, Jamie Black, Robin Gibson Montgomery and Cathy Black Roberts; sons, Russell Black and Ricky Gibson; sister, Ruth Stroud; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Ann Black; nieces and nephews, Patricia Stroud, Clint Black, Cindy Chastain and David Black and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday November 2, 2016 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Kemp and Clint Black will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest giving as you are led and encourage giving to others in need in memory of Mrs. Black.
