Rayburn Pearson

Mr. Rayburn Pearson, age 78, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on October 26, 2016, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after an extended battle with cancer.

Mr. Pearson was born on January 13, 1938, in Thomastown, MS to the late Milton and Merle Pearson. He moved with his family to Tucker, GA in 1969, and to Flowery Branch, GA 1989. He retired in 1998, as a Regional Sales Manager from Purolator Filter Company after 35 years of employment. In his retirement he loved spending time with his wife and family and friends on Lake Lanier. Known as “Pop” by his six grandchildren and their friends, he never missed an opportunity to cheer them on at their athletic and school events.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Goree Pearson; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Betsy Pearson, of Pearl, MS; daughter, Kim Wheeler, of Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Tim and Kristi Kirkland, of Flowery Branch, GA: and his six grandchildren: Ashleigh and her husband Matt MacAskill, Andy O’Reilly, Sadie Wheeler, Kiley, Conner and Katie Kirkland.

At Ray’s request there will be no public service. The family will host a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends at a later date.
