Mr. Wood was born on April 16, 1938 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Marvin H. Wood Sr. and Cozetta Canada Wood. Mr. Wood was a lifelong resident of Hall County. He grew up in the New Holland Mill Village and later moved to Air Line Community. After working with the State Highway Department, Woody went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired from the post office after 28 years of service, and he became interested in photography. For over 25 years he took wedding pictures, pictures for East Hall and West Hall Band and many pictures of children and families. He was a member of New Holland Baptist Church, and also served in the United Sates National Guard. Woody was always smiling and had a contagious laugh. He will be remembered for his precious laugh, love for sweet iced tea, collecting Coca-Cola products, love of many types of music and country western movies. His grandchildren knew to keep his sweet tea cold because if his ice melted he would shake his glass and ask for more. He is preceded in death by his parents.
