Charles Stephen (Chuck) Fawcett, 79, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 14, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel of Memorial Park North Riverside Funeral Home, Riverside Drive, Gainesville, on October 16, 2016 at 2 pm. Dr. Tom Smiley and Rev. Jerry Gill will be officiating service.
Chuck was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Earl and Ruth Fawcett on July 19, 1937. He went to high school at Mount Vernon High. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Otterbein University. He worked in the oil and gas industry, as a property developer, and finished his career at the Small Business Administration. A history buff, Chuck also enjoyed travel, his family, and his church.
Chuck is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Fawcett and father Earl Fawcett.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Ballew, his children Steve (Kathy) Fawcett, Kim Halverson, Bruce (Shannon) Fawcett, Kathy Richter, and Mike (Shelley) Fawcett, and his sister, Marilyn Agnew. He is also survived by two nieces, 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Known as Grandpa Charlie to his grandchildren, Chuck loved nothing more than being surrounded by the laughter and love of his family and friends. His quiet confidence, loving spirit and playful sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew him.
