Gregory Warkoski, 59, formerly of Bristol CT, died Thursday, September 29, 2016, at his home in Cumming, GA.
Gregory was born in Bristol on August 26, 1957 and was the son of Joan (Frechette) (Warkoski) Modeen of Southington, CT and the late Joseph B. Warkoski. He was a Bristol resident until his early 20s, later settling in the Atlanta area. He was employed as a chemical engineer at Solvay Advanced Polymers, Inc. for over twenty years until his retirement earlier in 2016.
Gregory graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, CT. After his graduation from UConn, he worked for several years for Amoco Plastics prior to joining Solvay. During his tenure with Solvay, he was involved in twelve (12) separate patents granted for his work in polymers, fabrics and injection molding.
When he was not working, Gregory enjoyed his beloved children, Joseph Warkoski age 21 and Samantha Warkoski age 19 (both of Atlanta, GA). Greg also enjoyed watching UConn basketball and loved to cook and was known for his Hot Salsa.
In addition to his children, he is also survived by his mother, his brother and sister-in-law, David and Doreen Warkoski of Wolcott, CT, his brother and sister-in-law Jeffrey and Angela Warkoski of Parker, CO, and his sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly Warkoski-Bagert and David Bagert of Southington, CT, his aunt and Uncle Dolores and John Black of Farmington Ct. as well as eight nieces and nephews and a step son, Rory Book of Champaign Il.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 6:30 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel.
