Mrs. Christine Campbell Powers, age 89 of 99 Nancy Lane, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Anderson Lon and Myrtle Watkins Campbell, she was born August 18, 1927 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived in Stephens County most of her life. She worked for Wright’s Manufacturing as a seamstress for a number of years and was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church. She delivered food for funerals for the church families. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Powers; two sons, Bobby Powers and Tony Powers; two brothers, Arthur Campbell and Thurman Campbell; sister, Mozelle Campbell; son-in-law, Kenneth Mosley who was like a son to her.
Survivors include her daughter, Joann Mosley of Hoschton, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, James and Mona Powers of Toccoa; two daughters-in-law, Jean Powers and Deborah Powers; grandchildren, Kevin Powers, Michelle Wood, Keri Hildreth, Kimberly Dorminy, Kale Powers, Aleshia Kay and Austin Powers; a number of great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 15, 2016, 1 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Ricky McFarlin and The Reverend Matt Bowman officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kase Jameson, Kevin Powers, Austin Powers, Kylar Jameson, Kandler Jameson and David Thomas.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 7 PM until 9 PM. Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Christine Campbell Powers.
