Lamar Vinson White, age 77 of Alto, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016.
Born on April 27, 1939, in Homer, Georgia, he was a son of the late Ben Conley White and Dorothy Barrett White Coleman. Mr. White was retired from Mr. C’s Package Store in Atlanta and had formerly worked with G & C Foam & Padding in Dalton. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed helping others and gave substantial donations to The 700 Club. Mr. White was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan M. Waldron; son, Arthur Jeffery White; daughter-in-law, Angela Faye Floyd White; brother-in-law, Thomas Suggs.
Survivors include sons, Kevin White of Gainesville and Joshua Lamar White of Conyers; grandson, Brandon Keith Waldron of Fairfield, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Billy and Freda White of Gainesville; sister, Frances Connie Suggs of Plantation, Florida; nephews, Tommy, Jimmy, Billy and David Suggs all of Florida; nieces and spouses, Kim and Kenneth Gilleland and Melissa and Marvin Dale all of Gainesville.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Gillsville with Revs. Billy Poole, Alvin Burns, Wesley Purcell and Billy White officiating. Mr. White will lie in state from 1:30 pm until the service hour on Monday at the church.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
