Mrs. Dorothy DeLong, age 79, of Oakwood passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville, surrounded by family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Oakwood City Cemetery. Rev. Gary Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeLong was born December 9, 1936 to the late Taylor & Blanche Wood in Batesville. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was retired from the Hall County School System, where she had been a Special Education Para Pro.
Mrs. DeLong is survived by her husband, Hubert DeLong of Oakwood; son& daughter-in-law, Shane & Natasha DeLong of Suwanee; daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Keith Coffey of Buford; grandchildren, Zachary Coffey, Travis & Nicole Coffey, Noah DeLong and Tyler Burdette; great-grandchildren, Hunter Coffey, Ashton Coffey, Phoenix Burdette and Wynter Burdette; sister, Betty Woody of Oakwood; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Tom Wood, Don Wood, Rell Wood and Eric Wood.
