Lance David Artis

Lance David Artis, age 30, of Cleveland, GA passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He leaves behind an unborn child, his first. He had attended White County High School where he played football, ran track, and cross country. He received his Associates Degree in Auto Mechanics at GA Perimeter College, and was currently working for Daunch & Hirschi Construction as a welder. Lance was a man of fashion and was passionate about his Jordan’s. His friends and family had given him the nickname “Maintain”, which he carried for many years. He was a member of New Gainesville SDA Church.

Lance was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Artis.

He is survived by his father, Michael La'Mont Artis, Brooklyn, NY; brother, Michael La'Mont Artis II, Gainesville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Eboni and John Thompson, Auburn, GA; aunt, Shirley Hall, Helen, GA; aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Bobby Pruitt, Gainesville, GA; nieces, Leeheina and Brooklyn Artis; nephew, La'Mont Artis; and girlfriend, Brandi Morris, and her 2 children, Zayvion and Zamya Cheek, of Cleveland, GA. A number of other relatives, many cousins, and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service for Lance is scheduled for 2 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at the New Gainesville SDA Church, 1813 Floyd Road, Gainesville, GA.
