Sarah Ellen Johnson Bruce

Sarah Ellen Johnson Bruce, age 80 of Buford, GA went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, September 26, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev Darrell Pruitt will officiate. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth, GA 30096 in memory of Sarah Bruce. Mrs. Bruce was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles M. Bruce, son Michael “Mike” Bruce, parents, Elvin and Odell Johnson, brother, Jacky Johnson, sister in-law, Marie Bruce, brother in-law and sister in-law, Roger and Mary Pharr. She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Mark and Pat Bruce, Buford. Daughter in-law¸ Gail Bruce, Buford. Grandson, Scott Bruce and wife, Wen, Wilmington, DE. Great Granddaughter, Callie Bruce, Wilmington, DE. Brother in-law, Herbert Bruce, Buford. Coworker, best friend and confidant for over 40 years, Yvonne Martin. Sarah was born in Gwinnett County and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was retired from Sears and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Sarah will be truly missed by those who remain and truly welcomed home by those who have gone up before her.
